The University of Oregon (UO) is inviting staff members from all departments to apply for a study abroad site visit grant through Global Education Oregon (GEO). This grant offers UO staff the opportunity to visit select GEO Centers in Europe in 2025.
Up to two UO Staff Study Abroad Grants will be awarded, with recipients visiting GEO Centers in London, England; Segovia and Oviedo, Spain; or Siena, Italy. Applicants from all UO staff categories—including officers of administration, classified employees, and non-tenure track faculty with at least a 0.5 full-time equivalent assigned to advising or administrative duties—are encouraged to apply.
The grant allows participants to engage in various roles based on their background, experience, and the objectives of the study abroad program. Those selected may also have the opportunity to join a faculty-led program with prior approval from the participating faculty leader.
The grant covers the costs of travel, accommodation, some meals, and associated fees such as travel and health insurance. However, it does not include salary or per diem compensation. Grant amounts will vary depending on the selected location, as determined by a selection committee.
Applications are due by May 15, and interested staff members can apply through an online form. Applicants are required to outline how they plan to promote GEO study abroad in their current role, as well as how they intend to use their international experience to enhance their work at UO.
