The University of Sheffield is now accepting applications for the International Baccalaureate Merit Scholarship for 2025. This prestigious scholarship offers a £10,000 award (approximately Rs 11 lakh) to international students enrolling in an undergraduate programme starting in September 2025. The scholarship is available for a maximum value of £40,000 for four-year programmes.
These competitive scholarships are designed to support international students who meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate academic excellence. The University of Sheffield is offering five such scholarships for new international undergraduate students.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the International Baccalaureate Merit Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following conditions:
International Baccalaureate (IB): Applicants must be studying for or have already completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Offer from University of Sheffield: Applicants must have received an offer to study a full-time or part-time undergraduate or foundation degree programme at the University of Sheffield, starting in September 2025. Most undergraduate programmes are eligible, except for Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).
Full-time or Part-time Studies: The degree programme must be taken full-time or part-time at the University of Sheffield. Degree programmes split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible.
Self-Funded: Applicants must be self-funded and eligible to pay overseas tuition fees. Sponsored students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Year of Entry: Applicants must be entering the University of Sheffield in Year 1 or Year 2 of their undergraduate degree.
Exclusion of Certain Programmes: MArch programmes are considered postgraduate taught programmes and are not eligible for this scholarship.
Application Process
Applications for the scholarship are now open. Applicants must log in with their applicant details (once they have received an offer) to access the application form. The deadline to apply is 1 pm (UK time) on April 22, 2025.
Scholarship winners will be notified by May 14, 2025. If selected, applicants will need to confirm their acceptance of the scholarship and firm their offer by a fixed date.
Scholarships Cannot Be Combined
Please note that the International Baccalaureate Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2025 cannot be combined with several other scholarships, including:

- GEMS International Merit Scholarship 2025
- NCUK Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2025
- DPS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2025
- International Undergraduate Scholarship 2025
