Bangladeshi students have long considered the United Kingdom (UK) as a preferred destination for higher education, drawn by its prestigious institutions, high-quality education, and the international recognition of UK degrees. Additionally, the UK’s two-year post-study work permit policy enhances its appeal to international students. However, the financial burden of studying abroad can be significant. To alleviate this challenge, several UK universities offer scholarships to help Bangladeshi students pursue their academic goals. Here are five universities providing scholarships for the 2025 September intake.
University of Sussex
The University of Sussex, located in East Sussex, England, is offering the Sussex Bangladesh Scholarship for both undergraduate and graduate students from Bangladesh. The scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction of GBP 4,000 for graduate students and GBP 4,500 over three years for undergraduate students.
There is no cap on the number of scholarships available, and they are automatically applied once students receive an offer to study at the university. The scholarship confirmation will be sent via email after the offer is received. However, applicants must be self-financing, and the scholarship cannot be combined with other Sussex-funded awards.
The application deadline is September 1, 2025.
University of Surrey
The University of Surrey, based in Surrey, England, offers the International Excellence Award for both undergraduate and postgraduate international students. The award provides a GBP 5,000 reduction in tuition fees.
To be eligible, students must first receive an offer of admission from the University of Surrey and complete the scholarship application form. The award is merit-based, and the scholarship recipients are selected by a panel.
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is July 31, 2025.
Cardiff University
Cardiff University, a member of the prestigious Russell Group and located in Cardiff, Wales, is offering the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship 2025 to Bangladeshi students applying for selected postgraduate programmes. The scholarship provides a GBP 10,000 tuition fee reduction.

The scholarship is worth GBP 5,000 and is offered as a tuition fee reduction for students applying to select postgraduate programmes.
